Bikeshare highlights from around the world

  • 🇲🇽 Just one month after introducing ebikes to a system that had previously operated exclusively with pedal bikes, Guadalajara's Mi Bici is already seeing a strong impact: over 73K trips logged, with electric bikes averaging nine rides per unit daily, more than double the rate of mechanical bikes. The system has rolled out 70 new charging stations and relocated 53 more to widen coverage, with its sights set on reaching a fleet size of 8,500 bikes and 800 stations.
  • 🇨🇦 BIXI continues its regional expansion with launches in three new municipalities: Boisbriand, Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, and Sainte-Thérèse. A total of 12 stations and 108 bikes and ebikes have been deployed across these communities, with Vaudreuil-Dorion set to join the network by summer 2027.
  • 🇨🇦 Québec City's àVélo has reached the 1 million trips mark just 71 operating days into the 2026 season achieving the milestone 19 days earlier than last year.
  • 🇪🇸 BiciCoruña continues its strong momentum in 2026, with nearly 20,000 users, a 20% increase since December. The system also reached a new monthly ridership record of more than 260,000 trips in June.
  • 🇺🇸 Chicago's Divvy surpassed 60 million cumulative rides since its launch in 2013. The milestone comes as the system celebrates its 13th anniversary.
  • 🇺🇸 Portland's BIKETOWN celebrated its 10th anniversary by setting a Guinness World Record for the world's largest ebike ride. The milestone highlights a decade of growth and BIKETOWN's role as a cornerstone of the city's transportation network.
