Through our partnership with Tembici, the Latin American city of Brasilia is running a bike share program with 500 Lyft Urban Solutions FIT bikes and 70 stations.
A fleet of FIT for Brasilia
Brasilia’s bike share system includes a fleet of sleek FIT bicycles and docking stations, all provided by Lyft Urban Solutions. The city’s bike sharing scheme will equip its popular urban areas with a healthy and eco-friendly alternative to travel by car, that will integrate with its public transit system. The operator in Brasilia, Tembici, currently runs 16, 000 bikes in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, including both regular and electric fleets.
In 2020, Tembici, Lyft Urban Solutions’s partner in Latin America, reported to have saved more than 4,000 tons of CO2 across the territories in which they operate, which would equate to about 20,000 trees. The city of Brasilia, located at the top of the Brazilian highlands in the center-western region of the country, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The stunning landscape of the area boasts modernist architecture and world-renowned innovation in its urban planning. Their bicycle-sharing system incudes solar stations and digital panels, as well as an active GPS solution for tracking their bikes and a QR-based rental system for ease of use.
