Looking back on a record-setting Bike to Work Week
Lyft Urban Solutions celebrated a record-breaking Bike to Work Week across the bikeshare systems it operates in six major U.S. cities: New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, and Portland. Ridership across these systems soared by 20%, with New York City's Citi Bike alone hitting an unprecedented 1 million rides. The momentum was even stronger for e-bikes, which now dominate trips and have seen a 133% increase in usage over two years. These numbers clearly show cycling is rapidly becoming a mainstream choice for daily commutes, highlighting shared micromobility's vital role in delivering sustainable, reliable urban transportation.
Industry presence: Where ideas meet action
- Our team had the pleasure of attending the Nordic Mobility Expo in Stockholm, Sweden, where we connected with industry leaders, explored innovative mobility solutions, and showcased our commitment to sustainable movement within cities. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and stay at the forefront of micromobility trends in the region.
- Our team participated in the 2025 Designing Cities Conference hosted by the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) in Washington, D.C. It was a pleasure to partner with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to offer a behind-the-scenes warehouse tour of the Capital Bikeshare system, giving city officials from across North America a firsthand look at our large-scale operations in action.
