We were back at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona for the eighth consecutive year. This pivotal event brings together global leaders in mobility and micromobility, all united by a shared vision for the future of urban transport. The three-day gathering featured over 1,000 exhibitors and attracted more than 25,000 participants for a dynamic program of meetings, discussions, and forward-thinking presentations.
Our return to Barcelona holds special meaning. The city isn't just hosting this global event—it's where Lyft Urban Solutions first established our presence in Spain. In 2019, we launched Bicing, our inaugural bike-share system in the country. Since then, we've expanded to seven additional cities, including Madrid, Valladolid, and Bilbao. Coming back to Barcelona is particularly significant as we reconnect with industry leaders in the very city where our Spanish journey began.
Today, Spain stands as one of our most dynamic markets. With over 20,000 Lyft Urban Solutions’ bikes deployed, the country accounts for 63% of our European fleet and 12% of our global fleet. And their popularity keeps climbing: in September 2025 alone, over 5 million trips were recorded across our Spanish systems. Usage rates remain impressive, with Zaragoza’s Biki averaging 13.3 trips per bike per day and Barcelona’s Bicing system averaging 8.3. Bicing also recently reached a major milestone: 100 million rides since its launch. These results highlight the growing appetite for shared micromobility across Spain and beyond. This trade show offered a unique opportunity to reconnect with our local and global partners. It was also the perfect setting to spotlight the future of shared mobility, with the latest additions to our fleet on display: the Lyft Astro ebike and the Lyft Metro pedal bike.
Introduced earlier this year, these two new models are designed to deliver a best-in-class rider experience. Equipped with a rear-wheel immobilization system for flexible parking, enhanced safety features, and real-time connectivity, they are engineered to meet the evolving demands of both cities and users, pushing the standard for what a modern bikeshare system can offer.
